DIESEL SOLUTIONS // CORE SERVICE

Injector Refurbishment.
Test First. Decide With Evidence.

Diesel injector problems do not automatically mean replacement. Our process starts by identifying and assessing the injector so the next step can be based on condition, fitment and confirmed technical information.

WHY REFURBISHMENT STARTS WITH ASSESSMENT

Repair should follow diagnosis, not guesswork.

An injector can be affected by wear, contamination, leakage, electrical faults or other fuel-system conditions. A structured assessment helps separate an injector that may be suitable for refurbishment from one that requires a different solution.

Condition before costThe technical condition of the injector should guide whether refurbishment is sensible before price alone drives the decision.
Fitment before orderingVehicle details and injector reference numbers help reduce the risk of selecting an incorrect replacement or exchange unit.
Testing before recommendationTesting creates a stronger basis for deciding whether to refurbish, exchange or replace.
Verification before returnWork should be checked after intervention so the injector is not simply returned on assumption.
THE REFURBISHMENT JOURNEY

Seven stages. One controlled process.

Each stage has a purpose. The aim is to build a clear chain from what arrives, through what is found, to what is recommended and ultimately returned.

01

Receive

The injector is received together with the available vehicle, engine and customer information. This creates the starting record for the job and helps prevent mix-ups between similar components.

Value: traceability starts here
02

Identify

Vehicle fitment, injector markings and reference numbers are checked against the available records. Accurate identification is important because injectors that look similar can have different applications or technical requirements.

Value: correct component, correct application
03

Test

The injector is evaluated using the testing capability available for that injector type. The purpose is to gather evidence about performance or failure symptoms before parts or labour are committed.

Value: evidence before intervention
04

Assess

Test findings, visible condition and identification information are reviewed together. At this point Diesel Solutions can determine whether refurbishment appears technically appropriate or whether another route should be considered.

Value: informed repair-or-replace decision
05

Refurbish

Where appropriate, the injector moves into the refurbishment stage. The exact intervention depends on injector type, condition, available components and the work that can be performed responsibly for that unit.

Value: restore where technically appropriate
06

Verify

After refurbishment, the injector is checked again using the applicable verification process. This stage is intended to confirm the outcome rather than assume that the intervention achieved the required result.

Value: check the result, not the intention
07

Return

The injector is prepared for return with the job reference and relevant findings or recommendations. Where further vehicle-side investigation may be appropriate, that can be highlighted rather than treating the injector in isolation.

Value: clear handover and next step
AFTER ASSESSMENT

Not every injector should follow the same route.

The responsible outcome depends on the condition of the unit and verified availability. Refurbishment remains the preferred first consideration where technically appropriate, but it is not presented as the answer in every case.

02 // ALTERNATIVE

Exchange

Where an exchange unit is available and technically appropriate, compare the identified injector against verified exchange stock and core-return conditions.

03 // REPLACEMENT

New

Where refurbishment is unsuitable, unavailable or uneconomical, the confirmed injector identity can support sourcing of a suitable new replacement.

IMPORTANT CONTEXT

The injector may not be the whole story.

Fuel contamination, filtration, supply problems or other vehicle-side conditions can contribute to injector symptoms or repeat failures. A refurbished injector should therefore be considered within the broader fuel-system condition where relevant.

Bring useful vehicle informationMake, model, year, engine details, derivative and any injector number you can safely read can speed up identification.
Keep removed injectors organisedWhere several injectors are removed, preserving cylinder position or workshop references can help maintain traceability during diagnosis.
Share the symptomsStarting difficulty, uneven running, smoke, loss of power or other observations provide useful context, although they do not by themselves prove an injector fault.
Avoid assuming one failed part explains everythingRepeat problems can occur if the underlying fuel-system cause is not identified and addressed.
TECHNICAL CONTENT CONTROL This page describes the intended Diesel Solutions service process at a general level. Specific test capability, calibration procedure, parts availability, turnaround time, warranty and manufacturer specifications must only be published once confirmed for the actual operation and injector type.
